Jack Kerouac ‘Desolation Angels’ Giclée Print

A stylised / minimal design poster inspired by the classic book ‘Desolation Angels’ written by American author - Jack Kerouac.

The design aims to capture the essence of the free-wheeling, chaotic, ‘beat’ lifestyle in a symbolic and minimal style. Two squares meet at angles to create an abstract composition reflecting the Desolation Peak summit with the double-summited peak of Mount Hozomeen behind it, both of which feature prominently in the book.

The dark and bright contrasting colours are suggestive of the live experimental Jazz music from the era (1950’s) which acts as a soundtrack to Kerouac’s lifestyle.

The design also features this poignant and poetic quote from the book: “Let us keep the mind neutral, let us be like the void.” The poster is a piece of fan-art with the purpose of being a modern tribute to an iconic author.

***Print Care***

On receipt of a print it is best to carefully remove it from the tube, loosen the tissue paper and leave it to unroll for a couple of hours before adding it to your frame of choice. Also be careful not to touch the artwork print too much.

Giclée Prints (longer lasting quality)
Giclées are printed using pigment-based inks rather than dye-based inks that are found in lower-cost inkjets. Pigment-based inks have a longer lifespan: they can last anywhere from 100 - 200 years without significant fading.
